I was able to gain further knowledge about Social Media Marketing and how to be a strong team player. I enjoyed being able to help in different aspects of the office. At times I would be creating posts and scheduling them, next I would assist with mailing options, then I would be out doing observations at the schools where the performances would occur, and finally I created videos to bring it all back together in the realm of marketing.
I may have been better prepared for my internship by having a more knowledgeable teacher. My supervisor was awesome with being there for me at all times, but she does not have any background in Marketing. My colleagues were able to learn more than I did from being around people with a Marketing background. Although I did not have a teacher in my internship, I was granted time to teach myself more about Marketing as a whole. I was grateful to be able to take the time out to learn more and be a self-teacher.
I grew professionally during my experience during my internship. I was put in situations that were quite uncomfortable and I had to have conversations with my superiors. After all was resolved, I was able to grow with my supervisor and learn how to be flexible in my field of work. I also gained the knowledge that I thought myself during my time there and I can say I definitely grew as a Social Media Marketer as I gained hands on experience in the field. I learned the best times to post on social media and how to tailor posts to specific audiences. I learned to tone down work when necessary and when to crank up the volume when needed. I have made it my mission to create content that is in the company's best interest and displays the brand in the best light possible.
After completing the COMM 368 ePortfolio, I believe I improved my professional presence by having an area where I can showcase my work. I appreciate the lessons learned while taking this course. I am one step closer to achieving my dream job. I will keep learning and improving my craft. I want to be best the out there one day. I am incredibly driven, coachable, a speedy learner and a self-starter. I refuse to give up on my goals. I will make it to the top because I will work for it.
